Small Sock Brand with Big Plans Transforms Processes
The following is an interview with Cam Klassen, Director, North American Operations from Fazl, and Michelle Jacobson, Co-founder of Simplify E-Commerce.
MJ: What did your order and invoice process look like before?
CK: Our order and invoice process before was extremely cumbersome and time consuming. Our dropshipping program with three different retailers had multiple platforms that we had to bounce between in order to complete a single order. Although that doesn't sound like much – each step required had about 10 steps within it that required the manual entry of information. In our peak season, there were days where my staff or I would spend entire days just doing orders.
Additionally, when you have to manually input as much information as we did, you're bound to hit the wrong key at some point – it just happens. The retailer’s platform the orders were processed in was not friendly about mistakes either. If you made a mistake and hit submit, you could not get it back. This was even more work because then you had to reach out and get them to void the EDI document you sent over and then you had to resend a new one.
MJ: Why did you consider building a new process for the orders and invoices?
CK: Our biggest retailer needed orders and invoices in a specific process, and it was not sustainable for us. It took way too much time. Equally as painful, the recommended integration vendor was not friendly toward small businesses. Their customer service and pricing did not meet our needs to say the least.
MJ: What was the results of the new process after working with the Simplify eCommerce team?
CK: It's hard to really explain how much time and stress this whole process has alleviated, but it's massive. It's a no brainer.
Can't say enough how much I would recommend Michelle and her team. Just on customer service alone. She is super responsive to emails and any request you have. She will even get involved in interacting with other companies EDI departments to help us figure issues out. More than willing to just provide advice or brainstorm on other issues as well.
I only wish I would have found Simplify Commerce earlier!
